What Is Stainless Steel Sheet ? A stainless steel sheet is a type of sheet metal made from an alloy of steel and chromium. Stainless steel sheets are normally classified into hot and cold- rolled types, mainly including 200, 300, 400 series alloys. 200 Series has low nickel; 300 series contains chromium and nickel as their major alloying additions; 400 Series is formed by ferritic and martensitic stainless steel. Type 200/300/400 series alloys available in sheets at Grand Metal include 201, 202,304, 316, 309,301,321,410,420,430. What Is NO.4 Finsh Sheet ? No. 4 finish simply as, “General purpose polished finish, one or both sides”. It also states, “No. 4 - A linearly textured finish that may be produced by either mechanical polishing or rolling. Average surface roughness (Ra) may generally be up to 25 micro-inches (0.64 micrometres). No. 4 Finish is the most popular for appliances, the food and beverage industry, elevators, escalators, hospitals, and any work area where there is food contact. The Features Of NO.4 Finish It is characterized by short, parallel polishing lines and is the easiest of the stainless finishes to maintain. Depending on the requirements of the application, the final finish can be anywhere between 120 and 320 grit. (Higher grit numbers produce finer polishing lines and more reflective finishes.) The surface roughness is typically Ra 25 micro-inches or less. NO. 4 finish gives low gloss and best apparent flatness of panels.
